Job Description

We are seeking an experienced installation electrician who has knowledge and preferably experience working with solar energy systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair, as well as a good understanding of solar technology and its applications. You will also be expected to work on your own and as part of a team for a reputable company based in Tiverton.

Qualifications

– Test and inspect 2394 and 2395 or 2391

– 18th edition wiring regulations

– Have a good understanding of renewables (but full training will be given).

– Knowledge of both domestic and commercial installations required.

– Full clean driving licence

Amazing opportunity for a qualified PV Installer or Electrician to join a rapidly growing renewables company, where you will assemble, install, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This company specialises in the installation and maintenance of Solar PV throughout the South West. Having rapidly grown over the past year, they are looking to continue that growth and capitalise on the expanding nature of the renewables industry. The role is both Domestic and commercial Roof and ground installations, alongside O&M works

The Role:

· Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs and other structures.

· Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid.

· Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.

· Inspects electrical installation and wiring.

· Tests operating voltages; calibrates to ensure systems are within acceptable power limits.

· Ensures that equipment is weather sealed.

· Performs routine maintenance on PV systems.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

· Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.

· Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to read building plans.

· Ability to read equipment manuals.

· Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.

· Ability to carry out roofing works desired, but not essential

· Full UK driving licence

Education and Experience:

· Full time served electrician

· 18th Edition Regulations

· City and Guilds 2399-22 would be an advantage.

· Previous related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to work at great heights.

· Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.

· Must be willing to work in both good and bad weather.

Salary: £34,560.00-£44,160.00 per year
